My schooling began at the age of 5 when I attended the Toongabbie Public School up to year 4. The family then moved to Crestwood, where I completed my Primary schooling at Crestwood Public School. I then attended Model Farms High School up to part way through year eleven. I have sometimes regretted not completing my HSC (High School Certificate) but then I may not have had the same life that I've had.
My parents are Peter & Rosemary and I have a brother, Chris and a sister Kelly. We are spread all over the country, but thanks to the wonders of email we are all able to keep in close contact.
In 1982 my girlfriend, Wendy, gave birth to our first child, Rhiannon.
In January of 1983 I went through the most terrible thing I've had to endure. Near the end of the pregnancy, our second child died due to complications. We named him Peter and he is now buried at Botany Cemetery.
In May of that year, Wendy & I married (she was already pregnant with Phillip who would be born on 21 December).
Wendy and I married on 7 May 1983.
| After losing my job with Hardie Ferodo (whom I'd been with for 5 years) Wendy & I, with our two children moved to Queensland to assist my Mum and her husband John, with their boat rental business at Mission Beach in Far North Queensland. This didn't last long, as Wendy tired of the quiet life and wanted to get back to Sydney. |

Wendy took the kids on ahead to Sydney, while I tried to put some more money together. Wendy and I, had another three gorgeous kids (Paul, Stefanie and Jessica) [see 'My Family']. Due to irreconcilable differences, Wendy and I divorced in June 92.
I found that times were not so pleasant as a single man. I had a couple of girlfriends but nothing serious (sometimes by my choice, but at other times not). So when I was retrenched from TNT Security (whom I'd been with for over 5 years), I decided that it was time to make a new start. So in March of 1994 I packed up my stuff and moved back to Queensland.
It was my intention to help Mum and John to complete building their yacht, 42 foot catamaran, and then to buy my own. Eventually, after a lot of searching I found her, a 30 foot Diamond Class yacht called 'Sea Mist'. [see 'My Boat']. I kept that boat for several years and have never really gotten over her. It's a love that, once you've had you can never get out of your system.
Well, one thing led to another and I ended up living in a small country town in the middle of Queensland, called Miles. Things, again, weren't going well. It was then that my good friend Tony called me up to tell me that he was looking for someone to manage his transport business. He was the owner of Henwood & Wilson Transport (later becoming Henwood Vehicle Transport). He offered me a position which had a lot of potential and also a way out of my predicament in Miles. I took a chance and accepted his offer ... the next thing I knew I was in Darwin, thousands of miles from everything I knew. The chance I took, paid off. I'm not rich, nor likely to be ... the position I took up with Tony has lead to many great things and turned my life around.
In January 2000 I decided that the time had come for me to make some changes. I left the employ of HVT , which was going thru some changes anyway, and started a full-time course at the Northern Territory University. I have now completed the course (Certificate II in Practical Computer Operations). I don't know that it will improve my job prospects but I learned a lot of stuff and made some good friends.
In July of 2000, two of my children, Paul and Stefanie came to Darwin to live with me. I couldn't be happier.
As things change I will try to keep this page up to date.
